For a mission project, our children’s Sunday school classes are collecting new and gently used shoes of all types and sizes to donate to Soles4Souls.org. About 300 million people in the world don’t have shoes to wear, and the children of St. John’s want to do something about it. Kids outgrow shoes so fast sometimes their shoes are still in pretty good shape when it is time to buy another size, and even adults have shoes we no longer wear. This mission project will help give those shoes new lives with people who need them. During Sunday school this summer, our children will play some shoe games, graph how many shoes they own, and make cardboard shoes like some of the poorest in the world do.
There will a blue tub in the narthex and in the hallway of the Admin Building to place your donations. Please have all donated shoes at the church by August 31, when our shoe drive will end. Thank you!
