Christmas will look and feel a little different this year, but Christmas will come! The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not, will not, and cannot overcome it. Together, let’s celebrate the message of Christmas — the message of love. For Christmas Eve 2020 we will offer two ways to worship.
ONLINE: We have a unique opportunity to celebrate and worship at home on Christmas Eve this year with our online service, which will include traditional scripture readings, beloved carols, a virtual Christmas pageant featuring St. John’s children, and a message by Pastor Lane. Join us on Facebook at 1 p.m. as we worship together, and the video will be available by 6 a.m. on Christmas Eve and any time after here on our website, Vimeo, and YouTube. You may download the online Christmas Eve service worship guide here.
IN-PERSON: At dusk, we will gather outside the sanctuary for Carols by Candlelight, a socially distanced outdoor celebration at 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve. During this brief service, we will read the Christmas story and sing beloved carols, illuminated by candlelight. Bundle up for the expected cold weather! You are welcome to bring a chair or blanket for seating. Please wear your mask and practice social distancing. In the case of inclement weather — ONLY IF IT IS RAINING — we will gather on Zoom at 5 p.m. You may download the Carols by Candlelight worship guide here.
