Oh merciful God, as we enter this season of holy darkness, help us prepare ourselves for a true and right relationship with you. Teach us humility. Guide our hearts and spirits into a time of genuine self-examination. Lead us into a desert of stillness so deep that we might feel the brush of angel wings and into a silence so profound that we might hear your whisper. Amen.
